We encourage you to join us in worship on Sunday morning at 10:30. Each service follows a theme discerned from the scripture for the day. The sermon is a primary source for exploring the theme, but we also use other spiritual sources such as silence, prayer, music (congregational, choir, instrumental), visual arts, and even the occasional liturgical dance.
It is our prayer and intention that the worship we participate in will lead us all into an encounter with God and with each other in community. Worship prepares us to carry on the work of Christ as we go out into the world for the week to come.

Come pray beyond words! Many of us are familiar with prayers that say “thank you” and “please help me” and “please help these others.” But many of us are not so familiar with prayer that is quiet and listens for what God may have to say to us.
Deep and Wide helps us with the prayer of quiet. After lighting candles representing our joys and concerns, we enter a time of contemplation with simple, repetitive songs from the Taizé tradition interwoven with scripture and poetry or other reading. The repetition of the simple songs lets us move beyond the words and into prayer. In the center of the service, we pause for several minutes of pure silence, where we quiet our “monkey mind” and are present in the moment with God. When thoughts intrude, we simply let them go without judgment and return to the silence.
You’ll find this a refreshing break from the troubles of the day, and you may even be inspired to do more contemplation on your own.
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises.
Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord.

Music is a large part of all of our services, and you can be a part of it.
- Chancel Choir sings an anthem during Sunday morning worship, about twice per month with summers off. If you like to sing, please come to choir practice at 7:00 on Wednesday evenings through April 5.
- Rainbow Ringers plays a bell anthem during Sunday morning worship, about once per month with summers off. We have five octaves of bells, so there is room for you if you’d like to make music with handbells. Rehearsals are currently paused, so check back for updated days and times.
- Deep and Wide uses guitar to accompany the Taizé songs. There are parts for additional instruments if you’d like to participate. Strings, woodwinds, and additional guitars are especially welcome.
Our chapel is a beautiful space for quiet meditation. We have provided contemplative recordings and self-guided meditations that you may use if you wish. Perhaps you’d like to take a break from your busy life in the middle of the week and pause for 20 minutes to re-center yourself in God. Just stop by the church office and we’ll be happy to show you the way. The chapel is open on Sunday mornings and during office hours during the week.
