We don’t think God talks to us, not in the way the Bible indicates he talked to patriarchs of the past, but does he? I read a recent devotional from a woman who responded to spiritual nudging to share homemade soup with people. She was hesitant to do it, but did it anyway, only to find it was just the thing the recipients needed in the moment. She did it out of love, not for kudos. The result was a realization – or maybe a reminder – that we’re all going through something and a gift out of the blue is just the thing we need.
